The second week of the summer split is over, but the analysis time has just begun! In this short article, we will take a closer look at the North American junglers and their picks. Due to the fact that 11 bans (23% of total bans) were directed towards the jungle champions this week, we got to see some more “odd-ball” picks from Amazing and crew, as the likes of Jarvan IV, Volibear and the Chinese-patented Nunu descended into the Rift. However, the joy of seeing some fresh faces was short-lived due to the fact that none of them were successful, which meant more power to the current “god-tier” junglers: Elise, Lee Sin, Evelynn and Kha’zix. Out of the bunch, Evelynn received the most bans and the least picks, ending the week with a 63% combined pick and ban rate, same as Kha’zix and being overtaken only by Elise and Lee Sin with an 88% combined pick and ban rate.
The Spider Queen managed to come out ahead of Lee Sin, winning 4 games and dropping only 1, to round off her 80% win-rate, while the Blind Monk had to settle with 75%. In third place, the only other champion who could take part in more than 25% of this week’s games, Kha’zix, did not fare as well as the other two and only achieved a 33% win-rate.
This week’s alpha d..spider was not hard to determine, as Elise managed to have the highest pick-rate, highest combined pick and ban rate and highest win-rate, making her an obvious choice for this award. Below are the builds that the pros chose for the Spider Queen and their respective performance with the champion. Dexter is the only one who got to play her in both games this week and also the only one who uses the magic penetration boots.
